Consortium Says Giving 110% No Longer Enough, Mandates Increase

The Nevergo consortium of St. Louis notified its 1300 employees this week that it is no longer sufficient to give 110 percent. New requirements – which increase expectations to as much as 113.2 percent depending on how long the employee has worked at the company – were introduced.

“With other consortiums nipping at our heels, 110 percent is no longer enough to stay viable,” says Human Functionality Officer Mark Hanson.  He notes that the consortium hasn’t had an increase since 1989 – when the percent rose from 108.3 – and that the new requirements were determined after a year of intense research.

“We want to challenge our employees,” he says, “but we don’t want to burn them out.”

These are the new requirements for the percent that must be given, effective February 1.

  • Less than one year – 111.3 percent
  • 2-10 years – 112.89 percent
  • Over 10 years – 113.2 percent

Hanson says that Nevergo is also looking at its “24/7” requirement, but that is proving more complicated.

“The hours and days are based on the current positioning and movement of the sun and the moon,” he says. “At this point we’re not sure how to change that.”
