OptiXXXX (New Orleans) provides mid-size pictures to companies that aren’t prepared to look at the big picture. Founded in 2016, it has 17,000 employees. Why everyone wants to work there: With its flex-time policy, employees can start their day anytime they want between 7 and 7:15 AM. “We empower them to pick a start time that’s best for them and for the company,” says Chief Positioning Officer MaryLou Branding.

SEPTRONIK (Beverly Hills, CA) helps wannabe start-up employees get their foot in the door by matching them with the shoes best suited to accomplish the mission. Why everyone wants to work there: “While we assign titles,” says CEO Charlotte Pertempt, “employees are not allowed to tell each other what their titles are.” The goal is to make everyone feel equal and nervous. Staffers are also required to dress entirely in pink, to foster what the company refers to as a culture of “pinkness.”

Porcelain23 Design (New York City) has made its mark by creating strategic design solutions to specific design challenges. Last year it expanded its original mission of partnering with innovators to also include innovating with partners. Why everyone wants to work there: Porcelain23 continually encourages staffers to involve themselves in all aspects of the business. “We want them to have their fingerprints on everything,” says Formulation Director Chad Millington, who admits that the practice has led to a few minor arrests.

Anethemellitron (44 locations nationwide) bridges the gap between new and old technology by actually constructing a bridge. “This can get expensive,” says founder Monica Phyffer, “but we pass the cost along to clients.” Why everyone wants to work there: Ice Cream Tuesdays, held once every year. “Each employee can get up to two scoops of his or her favorite flavor at absolutely no cost, with no questions asked,” says Phyffer. “It’s just our way of thanking them for all they do.”
