With New Algorithm, All Posts Will Now Come From Only One Person

A popular social media platform – which isn’t being named for fear of reprisals – recently changed its algorithm to limit users’ news feeds to just 26 of their followers.  Apparently, things are about to change again.

According to both inside and internal sources, starting in September user feeds will be limited to posts from just one person: Alan Jamison of LaPorte, Indiana. An official announcement anticipated next week will explain the change, though it is not expected to make sense – or to explain what an algorithm is.

A review of Mr. Jamison’s activity over the past year shows that users have much to look forward to:

  • His Cocker Spaniel, named Millie, has been suffering from digestive issues, necessitating five different trips to the vet with three more appointments scheduled.
  • He dines out often, usually at Ed and Max’s Steakhouse, where he likes the coconut pie so much he has posted 259 pictures of himself eating it.
  • When wishing someone Happy Birthday, he always writes “Happy Birthday! This means you!”
  • Astronomy is a favorite pastime. In addition to the Big Dipper and other popular star formations, he’s picked out profiles of 38 different celebrities – including seven of the singer Cyndi Lauper.
  • He delved into politics just once – last April 3 –  castigating a little-known Oregon legislator for not voting to limit tomato growth.
  • He is very proud to be Mechanical Engineer.
